The Battlefords North Stars have punched their ticket to the SJHL Canalta Cup finals.

TISDALE 鈥� The battles have been set as the best AAA Midget teams in Western Canada prepare to face off in Tisdale.

MELFORT 鈥� The Melfort Mustangs came from behind twice to grab a 2-0 lead in their Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League semifinals series against the Estevan Bruins. The Mustangs won game one 6-2 after trailing 2-0 on Friday.

NIPAWIN 鈥� The Nipawin Hawks organization was pleased with the development of its players during a successful 2018-19 season.

The Battlefords North Stars are one win away from the SJHL Canalta Cup Finals. The North Stars took a commanding 3-0 stranglehold in their semifinal series with the Yorkton Terriers on Tuesday, winning 1-0 in Yorkton.

MELFORT 鈥� The Melfort Mustangs faced their first defeat in the semifinal series against the Estevan Bruins. The away game on April 2 saw Estevan win 3-2.

HUMBOLDT 鈥� Broncos players, coaches, staff and billets came together to celebrate the season that was at an awards banquet. The event was held March 30. "You'd love to give everyone an award," said Scott Barney, the team鈥檚 head coach.

Robyn Silvernagle was back in action trying to add more hardware to her trophy case last week in Estevan. She and lead Kara Thevenot joined skip Tyler Hartung and third Jayden Schwaga in the mixed provincial championship, which wrapped up Sunday.

The local area teams just keep on winning. The latest to host a provincial title is the Northwest Sharks Bantam A female team, based out of Turtleford Arena, who captured the provincial bantam A title.
