There are reasons to be excited for the upcoming minor baseball season, said Michelle Hembling, vice-president of Canora Minor Baseball. Player registrations are up about 10 per cent compared to last year.

A fire burned in Canora on March 25 in a garage as two men were working on a car, said Mike Doogan, fire chief. The fire appeared to have been accidentally set off by a spark, and destroyed the car and the garage.

The Canora Composite School senior boys basketball team travelled to Maidstone on March 17 to take part in a 2A Boys Regional Playoff. The first game was on Friday evening at 6 p.m. vs. the hometown Maidstone Huskies, ranked number 2 in the Province.
