A bike rodeo was organized by the Weyburn Police Service in Jubilee Park, utilizing the pathway system for each station, testing young cyclists on the rules and on their knowledge of bike safety. Volunteers from throughout the community helped man the stations, including a bike decorating station, and the Salvation Army put on a barbecue at the end.

Weyburn hit by heavy rainfall, thunder and lightning

Weyburn and area was hit by a heavy thunderstorm on Monday evening, with more rain falling on Tuesday, resulting in flooding on some streets. For a time on Monday night, police blocked off a part of Government Road south of Souris Avenue, when vehicles stalled from driving through deep water. Weyburn received 10.2 mm on Sunday, 48.3 mm on Monday, so far on Tuesday 3.5 mm.

Family Soccer Day held for Weyburn soccer teams

Weyburn Soccer held its first Family Soccer Day since 2019 on Saturday at Jubilee Park, ending a successful spring season that saw over 500 children of all ages take part in programs. Visiting teams were on hand, as well as house teams for both boys and girls going head to head for a day of soccer fun, along with barbecued hot dogs and burgers and drinks to help keep everyone fed and hydrated as the day got hot.
