Families and children in the City of Weyburn's Fun in the Sun summer program paid a visit to the Weyburn Therapeutic Animal Park on Friday, checking out the many farm animals housed there currently. The animals included alpacas, a pony, pigs, rabbits, goats and a calf.

The summer art program studied the masters this week, and did art works in the style of such masters as Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, Henry Moore, Picasso and Joan Miro, learning different ways of expressing one's creativity and emotions.

The Bow Valley Jamboree drew plenty of great entertainment to the Oxbow area this year.

Weyburn dog trainer Russ Roome showcased the abilities of his sheepherding dog Jill at the Heritage Village Days on Friday and Saturday. He also had a guest dog handler, Barbara Lloyd of Regina, with her dog Pearl. They showed how a dog could keep perfect control of a group of sheep by using hand signals or whistles.

The Heritage Village in Weyburn was a busy place on Friday and Saturday with activities and demonstrations, along with guides available in most of the buildings and houses in the village. The entertainment tent was kept busy on both days, and a food booth provided barbecued burgers and pie and ice cream.

The City of Weyburn hosted the annual Tatagwa Tree Day event on August 6,, to plant approximately 135 coniferous and deciduous trees. There were over 30 people who registered to help plant the trees.

The Nickle Lake Market, crafts, slo-pitch and live music were all part of Nickle Lake Day on Saturday.

Midale's Pioneer Echoes event, with a parade of antique tractors and threshing demonstration, was held Saturday and Sunday, along with opening the heritage village where one could find fried bread, saskatoon pie and ice cream, and the rock-climbing wall.
