Music teacher Holly Butz led a Grade 6 class through songs on a recorder, and using ukuleles and xylophones, during a music class on Friday morning at Legacy Park Elementary School. The students were learning and practising a song for the Weyburn Rotary Music Festival, upcoming in March.

Assiniboia Park students back on ice learning about curling

Students in Grades 5 and 6 from Assiniboia Park Elementary School spent the morning at the Weyburn Curling Rink learning the basics of curling, from throwing a rock to sweeping. Teachers and parent volunteers had groups of students on each sheet of ice as they went through exercises in how to throw a rock, how to read the skip's directions and how to sweep a shot.
