I didn鈥檛 know whether to laugh or cry when I heard on the CBC that again, one of the Canadian navy鈥檚 infamous second-hand submarines was back in dry dock after only a few days at sea, because of major malfunctions.

Premier Brad Wall made what is becoming his annual fundraising trip to Alberta, this past week, to speak to industry friends at the Petroleum Club. The effort was, no doubt, rewarding for both the industry players and Saskatchewan鈥檚 first minister.

The oil industry just can鈥檛 catch a break. The Fort McMurray fires have had the biggest impact on oil production in Canada probably in generations.

There are times when our problems seem insurmountable, and no matter how hard we try, we cannot find a way out. When that happens, it is easy to just give up, pout and feel sorry for ourselves.

Over the past 11 months, I鈥檝e developed a habit that鈥檚 brought me great enjoyment and resulted in significant health benefits. Sadly I have to set it aside, at least for the time being.

I didn鈥檛 know a whole lot about Saskatchewan before I moved here. I drove through parts of the province, then and again, and always would look for landmarks, to get my bearings.

The Saskatchewan Rush are champions of the National Lacrosse League again, getting past the Buffalo Bandits 11-10 in Game 2 of the Champions Cup final. Jeff Cornwall scored the game-winning goal with 12 seconds left in regulation.

We recently had to scale back the screen time in our household. I鈥檓 not one who thinks that devices are evil or anything.

Were you at one of the events in southeast Saskatchewan last weekend? If you weren鈥檛, you were likely out of town, or you might be in the minority of people. There was an abundance of activities for people in the Estevan area from June 3 to 5.
