Canada will be turning 149 years old on Friday, July 1, and fireworks will burst with communities celebrating this great occasion with parades, barbecues, live concerts and various activities.

It appears, at least on the surface, that Saskatchewan鈥檚 premier is gaining a little traction in terms of ironing out agreements, or at least making some well-considered points with his counterparts in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec.

The Editor: In 1981 my father (Clarence) retired and as it so often happens when people retire, they schedule a bunch of medical check-ups.
