Telling a tale in time

This column probably will be the least popular with the Estevan Mercury readers, but I still decided to write it. People are all about football here, but I’ve always been a soccer (or real football) fan. So are millions around the world.

In the wake of the ethics commissioner’s report into the SNC-Lavalin affair, and the role that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau played in pressuring one of his top cabinet ministers, there was one thing that was absent from the opposition parties.

No one was very surprised when Canada’s Ethics Commissioner came out in a report to say that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did in fact cross the line ethically in the SNC-Lavalin affair.

Vancouver Island is a lovely place to live, but there’s a caveat to this island paradise. Life on Vancouver Island can be relaxed, beautiful and easygoing.

The other day I ran into our local MLA, Lori Carr, who happened to be the Highways Minister.

I saw the sign when we pulled into the farm. For sale. It was late at night when I arrived at Wilaway Farm, which is my parents’ horse farm in Langley, B.C., on Aug. 8.

William Decimus Godson married Catherine (Kate) Stanley in England on May 8, 1902, and built the Shakespeare Hotel in Carievale a few months later. The hotel opened for business in 1903.

While there’s always something to do and something to cover in southeast Saskatchewan, the summer is typically a quieter time in this area. And that’s to be expected.
