Cheers to the great people of Midale for all of the different events and activities that were offered during the August long weekend. It鈥檚 great to see so much happening in one small town.

For all of the more than five decades we鈥檝e been married, Ed and I have enjoyed playing board games. Out of respect for trademarks and their legal implications, I won鈥檛 name any but one of our favourites involves lining up numbers in sequence.

One of the advents that we鈥檝e praised within these pages several times this year has been the RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network. It started earlier this year in southern Saskatchewan.

For the past year, Estevan has been fortunate to be part of a program named the longitudinal integrated clinical (LIC) clerkship program.

It's about showing up

I鈥檝e never heard about gluten intolerance prior to coming to Canada. In Russia, some 10 years ago I鈥檇 hardly ever heard about lactose intolerance either.

During the late 1990s, my late sister, Melanie, worked at fly-in fishing camps up north in the Northwest Territories for her summer jobs to pay for her nursing degree.

On July 20, 1969, millions of people watched as NASA landed the first men on the moon. It was the culmination of the dream set forth by President John F. Kennedy and it was one of the most engaging and impressive feats of human achievement.

There are few feelings more exciting than that of winning a new car. I remember when I was a kid, and had free time during the summer months. One of my go-to activities during the day was watching game shows, most notably The Price is Right.
