North Battleford’s Jesse McNabb was part of history as the Saskatoon Hilltops won five Canadian Bowls in a row. McNabb, a defensive lineman for the Hilltops, used to play for the NBCHS Vikings. McNabb longsnapped for the Hilltops.

The Battlefords Midget Stars have announced that Brett Parker will take over as their new head coach.

The hockey-heavy weekend went well for the Battlefords North Stars, as they came away with two wins in three games.

Although he is now playing junior hockey with the Yorkton Terriers, Carter Lake definitely earned an assist for this year’s Tisdale Trojans team with his help in recruiting Colby Vranai. Last season as a 17-year-old rookie Lake played in Tisdale.

MELFORT — Crokicurl will be coming to Memorial Gardens on Melfort’s Main Street. The new crokicurl arena will be unveiled to the public, weather permitting, on Nov. 23, and will be open for use until Feb.

CARROT RIVER — Carrot River resident Tamyka Wiens placed first in her class at the Canadian finals for cowboy mounted shooting in Alberta. Wiens is 13, and this is her first time competing in the Canadian finals.
