TISDALE — Despite the event being called short due to the rain, the U12, U14 and U16 Tisdale softball teams put on a show during the annual 2019 Riverdog Run. The tournament ran from June 22 to 24, with 19 teams signed up.

HUMBOLDT — Mike Herperger of Humboldt and Drew Dale of LeRoy were the champions of this year’s Father’s Day Tournament at the Humboldt Golf Club. The pair, who won the Charles and Edward Weninger Memorial Trophy, had a two-day total of 130 (–14).

KINISTINO — Personality as well as pitching not only brought Kinistino’s Etta Van Burgsteden to McCook Community College but allowed her to thrive there.

HUMBOLT — At their own swim meet, the Humboldt Hammerheads won 111 first, second and third placings. The meet was held on June 15, during the Summer Sizzler.

HUMBOLDT — Twenty three strong bodies from across the province took to Elgar Petersen arena to compete in the Summer Sizzler’s regional strongman competition.

The #StarsStandStrong Mental Health Initiative’s first mental health awareness event was held Saturday. It was the Youth Street Hockey Tournament and barbecue, with all proceeds going back to the community.
