HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos are hoping youth will be served this season. Down to 25 on the roster on Sunday, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League squad is filled by many talented young players.

MELFORT — After a strong 2018-19 campaign, the Melfort Mustangs teams are seeking success again.

Soon after the conclusion of the preseason comes word that the Battlefords North Stars have traded one of their veterans. The North Stars confirmed on Facebook that they have traded Ryan Granville to the Yorkton Terriers.

HUMBOLDT, NIPAWIN — The Humboldt Broncos have traded 2000-born defenceman Max Johnson to the Nipawin Hawks. The Grand Forks, North Dakota native played 23 regular season games with the Broncos last year, making three assists.

HUMBOLDT — Mike Winkel and Jared Leier of Saskatoon won the Humboldt Golf Club’s Labour day tournament for the second year in a row. The annual Labour Day Two-Person Match Play Tournament took place on Aug. 31 and Sept 1.

HUMBOLDT — Last weekend was the first chance for the Humboldt Broncos organization and its fans to get a look at its future. The 2019-20 edition of the Broncos will be young and feature many new faces.

Sunday’s game was a Labour Day Classic of a roller coaster for the Riders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. It produced an ending with Cody Fajardo’s finest moments as a Rider.
