With the Battlefords North Stars continuing their winning ways, some more honours have been bestowed on the team. The North Stars have climbed the latest CJHL national rankings up to third in the country.

The Battlefords Stars picked up a strong 鈥淲鈥� on the road against the Notre Dame Hounds in midget AAA hockey action Oct. 19. The Stars beat the Hounds 5-2 at Duncan McNeill Arena, for their third win of the season against five defeats.

TISDALE 鈥� Whether it is scoring goals or playing tunes, Mackenzie Carson is willing to do whatever he can to help the Tisdale Trojans. The 17-year-old from Carrot River is an important points producer.

Is there logic to being disappointed by a win? The Riders, as expected, defeated the B.C. Lions on Saturday evening. They have 11 wins.

Some not-so-good news this week for fans of local Battleford-born NHL centre Colby Cave. Cave is now an AHL player again, having been waived by the Edmonton Oilers this week. He was then assigned to the Bakersfield Condors, the Oilers鈥� AHL affiliate.

The North Battleford Comp Vikings head to the playoffs on a down note, dropping a 40-6 decision to the Bishop James Mahoney Saints last week.
