The Battlefords AAA Stars needed a sweep if they wanted to get back into the playoff race versus the Swift Current Legionnaires. It didn鈥檛 happen.

Playoff matchups are now set in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League. Four semifinal series are scheduled to begin this week.

CARROT RIVER 鈥� Luc Marleau started this hockey season playing forward but earned all-star accolades for the Carrot River Outback Thunder as a defenceman.

This past Saturday, NBCHS senior girls鈥� basketball team won gold at the Mauraders Invitational Tournament in Saskatoon. The gold medal game saw the Vikings play Aden Bowman Bears. They came away with a score 67-40.

HUMBOLDT 鈥� Hometown Humboldt Broncos rookie defenceman Noah Barlage鈥檚 passion for the game of hockey was very evident when he was growing up. 鈥淣oah just loves hockey,鈥� said Jonathon Barlage, who coached him for many seasons and is his uncle.

8-5 win sends Silvernagle to Moose Jaw

The John Paul II junior boys have taken home another tournament title. This time it was a gold medal in Lloydminster, at the annual Hot Hoops Junior Basketball Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
