The Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League has finally released its schedule for the 2020-21 senior hockey season. The season is set to begin Nov. 27 with a game between the Battlefords Beaver Blues and Radisson Wheatkings at the Battleford Arena at 8 p.

The Battlefords AAA Stars have finally gotten in a game at home after their home opener the previous week was cancelled due to winter weather. The North Stars were home to the Saskatoon Contacts Saturday afternoon, losing by a 4-1 final score.

The Battlefords North Stars are off to a three game losing streak to begin this season in 2020-21. The latest two losses came in La Ronge to the Ice Wolves by scores of 5-3 and 7-4.

TISDALE — Kylynn Olafson might not be the loudest Tisdale Trojan, but the team is looking for him to have an impact in several areas this season.

HUMBOLDT — The Humboldt Broncos galloped out of the gate to start the new Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season. On the road in Yorkton, the Humboldt squad led 7-2 at the second intermission en route to downing the host Terriers, 7-4, on Nov. 6.

TISDALE — Jordan Normand looks at life with a glass half full mindset. That positive attitude is an important reason why the Warman product leads the Tisdale Trojans this season as their captain.

The Battlefords AAA Stars were among a number of teams whose games on the weekend were cancelled due to bad weather. The Stars were scheduled to host the Saskatoon Blazers at home Saturday.

The Battlefords North Stars waited eight months for their first regular season game back on Civic Centre ice. Now they'll have to wait a little longer.

The North Battleford Touch Football League concluded recently with four teams squaring off in the finals. The Gophers were undefeated and took home the trophy.
