SaskAbilities - Yorkton Region said thank-you to its SACRAN customers today. The local organization had the barbecue fired-up, and were offering patrons hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch.

The sidewalks on the north side of Smith Street between Fourth and Fifth Ave. are being replaced as part of the City of Yorkton鈥檚 annual sidewalk replacement program.

While it鈥檚 been nearly two decades since the Vancouver Grizzlies called Vancouver home, B.C. fans recall the short-lived legacy with pride. Of course, the team didn鈥檛 win very many games, but Vancouverites loved their Grizzlies, regardless.

Phase one of the 鈥榮have and pave鈥� of Broadway Street East began on Aug. 6, with the paving machine, pictured above, ready for work. The work is expected to last until Sept. 27, with each phase lasting two weeks 鈥� one week for each side of the road.

The best in gardening is on display at St. Gerard鈥檚 Parish Complex on Aug. 7. The Yorkton Horticultural Society is hosting their Annual Fruit Flower and Vegetable Show, with area gardeners bringing off their prize plants to show off.

White Butte RCMP is requesting the public鈥檚 assistance in locating a 14-year-old male youth from a residence in Pilot Butte, SK. Vaughn is described as being 5鈥�10鈥� tall with a slender build and weighs approximately 140 lbs.
