A Kamsack woman is involved with events being held this month in recognition of February being Saskatchewan Aboriginal Storytelling Month.

Family Literacy Day was observed at the New Beginnings Outreach Centre in Kamsack on January 27. The event was hosted by the Parkland Regional Library, Literacy Hub, said Carol Marriott of Kamsack, a literacy co-ordinator for the Library.

The 10 women of the 2017 tour of the Prairie Women on Snowmobiles (PWOS) accompanied by a crew of eight with a van and flatbed truck, pulled into Kamsack late Sunday afternoon to spend their first night of the tour.

New projects for both Kamsack Comprehensive Institute and Victoria School have become a reality thanks to the Sunrise Health Region, said Heather Netzel, the Community School Co-ordinator at both schools.

Yorkton MLA and Rural and Remote Health Minister Greg Ottenbreit has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, said a release from the Saskatchewan Party caucus on Friday.

During the month of February, two 鈥渇un鈥� events are being held at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute in support of the Kinsmen鈥檚 Telemiracle 2017, which is being held the first weekend of March.
