Cheers to the St. Joseph`s Hospital Foundation for organizing another fun colour run. The car they`re giving away in a lottery looks good, too.

Canada Day was something else last year. It was our country’s 150th birthday and many people pulled out all of the stops to mark the occasion. Homes were decorated a little more.

Constructed in 1944 in California and known locally as one of four Hulks, YOGN-82 formed part of a breakwater at the local Catalyst Paper plant in Powell River for a number of years. Recently it sank or, more accurately, was deliberately sunk.

Finally, the eastern blocks of King Street are getting some much needed attention. It’s no secret to Estevan residents that King Street has been in rough shape for years, with potholes, ruts and rough driving.

Carlyle Town Council held its regular weekly meeting Wednesday, June 20 at the Carlyle Civic Centre. Council's next meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 at the Civic Centre.

The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls from Thursday, June 14 to the morning of Thursday, June 21.
