The editor: Imagine you鈥檙e a minimum wage earner here in Saskatchewan, trying to meet all your household expenses while earning $10.96 an hour. It鈥檚 really tough, sometimes impossible.

Weyburn鈥檚 city council took the high road, and threw in a noble gesture while they were at it, when they dealt with a potentially thorny issue regarding their wages on Monday evening.

Moosomin has a unique place in the Saskatchewan oilpatch. On the edge of oil production, there鈥檚 long be a few pumpjacks running north of town. But the number of directly-related oilpatch businesses has diminished over time.

Local residents have been waiting a long time for a new nursing home. The current building is more than 50 years old, which is ancient by healthcare facility standards.

My sister had a milestone birthday this week, so Sara, the girls and I decided that it would be fun to go to Moose Jaw and celebrate with her.
