If the walls could speak

The Christmas shopping season is wrapped up, and the Boxing Day (which now is more like a boxing week, if not a boxing month) is right around the corner, so we soon will get that satisfaction from catching great deals.

I鈥檝e heard a few people mention the impending turn of the decade, that perhaps this will be another Roaring Twenties. But for some of the youngest among us, it may feel like a countdown, as in, they have 10 years left to the end of the world.

One of the recurring themes that we鈥檝e heard in the community in the past year or two is having events that create a buzz in the city. We saw it earlier this year with the Rafferty Rumble.

This past summer, family and friends gathered to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law鈥檚 25th wedding anniversary. It was an informal gathering that had only one real goal: hang around and tell stories about Kurt and Tracy.

Each year I get the same question: what will I be doing for Christmas? Will I be returning to B.C.
