An acclaimed musician from Estevan has received another recognition for his latest album. Chris Henderson claimed the No. 10 position on the SaskMusic Top 10 Albums of the Year competition for Point of View.

The Lampman Community Theatre was back once again this past weekend. The guests had a chance to enjoy a hilarious play, Poker Nights at the Legion, written by Lampman鈥檚 Maureen Ulrich.

Giselle Wilson is the owner of the Giselle鈥檚 ShowTyme Dance Studio on 405 Dominion Road. Before the studio was converted into a dance studio, the building once served as a church.

The Rotary Club of Estevan hosted the 67th annual Christmas Carol Festival at St. Paul鈥檚 United Church on Sunday. Many people came to enjoy the beautiful live music that filled the building that night.

The Estevan community received a Christmas spirit boost at the Woodlawn Regional Park. Christmas at the Park attracted hundreds of people last Sunday.

The Shurniak Art Gallery held a Community Christmas Open House on Sunday, December 15 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. The afternoon鈥檚 entertainment was supplied by The Fourtunes, an a cappella group from Moose Jaw and Cool Change, a folk-rock duo from Rockglen.

For the first time, Souris Valley Museum invited grandparents to come out and join their grandkids for a Christmas activity. Saturday morning saw families touring the museum, decorating cookies and then enjoying them with milk, tea or coffee.

Estevan had a chance to learn the unique history of M茅tis people who lived and travelled through the area, when the Estevan Public Library hosted M茅tis author Cecile Blanke.

The Carlyle Dickens Festival remains a hit, not just with the people of the Carlyle area, but it鈥檚 a drawing card for people outside of the town. The 17th edition of the festival took place Dec. 6 and 7.

Pianist Cherith Alexander and her daughter Bridget, a violinist, will both be playing with the Regina Symphony Orchestra for a Christmas pops concert on Saturday, Dec. 14, as they play the soundtrack for the holiday movie classic, 鈥淗ome Alone鈥�.
