Mary Fender Lumb, late of Weyburn, SK passed away March 21, 2013, at the age of 89 years.

A train collided with a school bus at the crossing on 4th Street East near the elementary school in Carlyle on Tuesday, March 26. There were seven elementary students onboard at the time of the collision.

The province of Saskatchewan seems to be the place people from other provinces like to make fun of; but, I personally am very proud to be from here.

On Friday, March 22, grades one through six at Manor School participated in Jump Rope for Heart. The youth were brought to the gym at 1 p.m. where they were led through stretches before participating in the afternoon of jumping rope.

All the players & parents of the 8 & Under team would like to pass on a BIG THANK-YOU to the coaches, Larry Rae & Jeff Humphries, for their hard work & dedication this season! It has been an exciting and memorable season.

T he Saskatchewan Party brought down its 2013 budget last week, and it was one where agriculture saw a major positive, as well as being left to wonder about what was missing. To start, the positive came in continued research funding.

On Saturday, March 23 the Arcola Day Care welcomed youth and their parents to Prairie Place Hall for one of their major fundraisers of the year.

We often hear about farmland being a finite resource in this world of ours. And of course that is true in regards to acres.

Well, it looks like the government finally got it right with drinking age. I am sure the decision this past week to keep the legal drinking age at 19 years old was welcomed by many.
