The third annual Justinsane Barbie Car Races wrapped up on May 7 raising over $3,000. This year, the funds were being collected for the Mossbank Recreation complex. The event was hosted by Ardill Hotel at its new location at Ardill Hill.

This June a new art exhibit is coming to the Kay Cristo Room at the Assiniboia and District Public Library sponsored by the Assiniboia and District Arts Council. Artist Debbie McCrea from Mankota will have her works on display for the month of June.

The benefits of energy pipelines will be discussed at the Canalta Hotel in Assiniboia on June 8. Mark Scholz, president of CAODC and spokesperson for Oil Respect, will address the importance of the Energy East pipeline project.

Three Assiniboia Rockets high school football players, Weston Mergel, Riley Moneo and Parker Auchstaetter, headed to the 2017 Six-Man Provincial Senior Bowl Games, which was held Saskatoon on May 19-22.

Lafleche Minor Hockey had a fantastic 2016/2017 season, winning two Wood River Minor Hockey League Championships — the Â鶹ÊÓƵwest Saskatchewan Hockey League Championship, and the Bantam D Provincial Title.
