SENLAC — The Senlac Multiple 4-H Club held its annual Achievement Day, May 24, at the Senlac Arena. It was a beautiful breezy day, which kept the mosquitoes away and the cattle comfortable! We had a tremendous crowd who joined the club at a community barbecue and enjoyed watching the members show off their hard work.
This year, Senlac had 21 members in four different projects: Beef, Archery, Crafts and new this year, Outdoor Living. This year we had multiple fundraising projects, including bottle drives, battery recycling, cake bingo, ditch picking and the popular “Fill your Freezer” raffle.
At Achievement Day, the crafts project displays were remarkable. Members made projects such as garden stepping stones, tie blankets, Christmas soap dispensers, door hangers for any occasion and many more. Our craft leader, Corrine McWatters was recognized by not only the club but 4-H Saskatchewan for her 30 years of volunteering. She has been and is a valuable asset. We appreciate all that she has done for the club over the years.
The Outdoor Living members did a presentation, talking about things they did over the year and projects they made. The members went on many hikes during the fall and winter, trying their hands (or feet) in snowshoeing and ice fishing, making their own water filtration system and learned what they could use in their survival kits in the case they ever needed to filter water. Their final activity this year was a campout at Turtle Lake, which was enjoyed by the members and leaders alike! It was a very neat project to have this year.
The Archery project set up and took part in a 3-D archery shoot with all of the members doing well and recording personal bests within their 4-H records. They will compete in a large archery competition in Lloydminster during the weekend-long 4-H Expo, with over 40 archers from other clubs.
As usual, the record books were astounding, with the members all putting a lot of effort into their books and it truly showed. Record book winners were as follows:

We will wind down for the year and start back up again in the fall. We welcome any new members who would like to join our club. If you ever have any questions, please reach out to our Facebook page.
