North Battleford鈥檚 Emile Francis, nicknamed 鈥淭he Cat,鈥� has been honoured with the Wayne Gretzky International award. Francis is a former player, coach and general manager in the National Hockey League, most notably with the New York Rangers.

The Battlefords kicked off 2016 the way a first place team should. Coming into Saturday鈥檚 tilt against Kindersley, the North Stars held a perfect 5-0 record against their interdivision rivals.
