TISDALE — The Tisdale Trojans are now fighting for a spot in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League finals. The No. 2-seeded Trojans and the No. 3 Saskatoon Blazers started their best-of-five semifinals in Tisdale on Tuesday night.

The best ever season for the Battlefords AAA Sharks is at an end.

The Battleford Beaver Blues have drawn first blood in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League final series. The top-seeded Blues beat the Edam Three Stars 6-5 in game one of the finals at Battleford Arena on Saturday. The series is a best-of-five.

The quarter-final opponent for the Battlefords North Stars will be the Flin Flon Bombers. The Bombers secured their place in the next round by beating Weyburn Red Wings in a two-game sweep of their Survivor Series.

HUMBOLDT — After fighting their way through some close robin game games, the Humboldt Collegiate Institute senior boys’ curling team was knocked out of provincials in a tiebreaker.

The Battlefords Midget AA Barons have made it to the finals in the Centre Four division. The Barons swept the Saskatoon Icehawks in their second-round series in three straight games.

Brayden Klimosko is staying on as head coach and general manager of the Battlefords North Stars. It was announced Friday by the hockey club that Klimosko has confirmed his commitment to the club to his option year of 2020-21.

HUMBOLDT — Three major user groups of Humboldt’s ball diamonds are getting together to raise money for long-needed improvements.

The Saskatchewan Soccer Association SaskTel Soccer 4 Life 6-aside Indoor Youth Provincial Championships took place in Saskatoon on Feb. 22 to 24.
