Twin Rivers Curling Club played host to provincial 4-H curling championships on the weekend at Northland Power Curling Centre. Nine teams took part on the junior draw and eight in the senior draw.

It will be a long night for Robyn Silvernagle. After losing to Manitoba Tuesday evening she spoke of analyzing games at night. Following Wednesday evening’s loss to Northern Ontario she, for the first time at the Scotties, swept by reporters.

Virtually every team has a terrible game at the Scotties and Team Saskatchewan had that game Tuesday evening. It was a surprise after their fine game Tuesday afternoon.

The John Paul II Crusaders boys and girls junior basketball teams have captured Battle West District Championship titles once again.

Playoff matchups are set for the semifinal round in the Saskatchewan Prairie Hockey League.

TISDALE — Kalen Ukrainetz became the Tisdale Trojans’ all-time leading scorer in impressive fashion. The third year forward from Wynyard scored three goals and recorded six points on Sunday afternoon in a 9-3 victory over the Beardy’s Blackhawks.

TISDALE — Jeremy Hancock and Zac Robins have brought experience to the Tisdale Trojans’ blue line this season. Both the 16-year-old Hancock and 17-year-old Robins helped Tisdale win the Telus Cup Western Regional at home last year.

HUMBOLDT — With strong defensive play and solid goaltending, the Humboldt Broncos earned an important 3-0 shutout victory over Nipawin on Saturday night.

It was a surreal Monday evening at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw for Team Saskatchewan. Playing the undefeated Laurie Walker from Alberta, they needed a win to ensure staying in the top four teams of their pool.
