Hitting the road for summer visiting

I'm back again after a wonderful summer. We can't complain about our weather this year as it was mostly lovely, warm and sunny. Hopefully September will be nice too, so the farmers can get their harvesting done.

Cooler evenings signal fall's arrival

As fall approaches we are experiencing much cooler evenings and there is a noticeable difference in the length of the days. Corn has at last begun to ripen in the garden. It just needed the warmer weather we are presently enjoying.

Children were lined up around the block at Emmanuel Pentecostal Fellowship to get in on the fun and games at the free Kids' Carnival, Aug. 24.

Summer's over for NBCHS students

NBCHS students' summer came to an end as they walked through the doors of NBCHS Aug. 31 to register for the new school year. The Grade 12s started rolling in at 9 a.m., confident and excited to finally be the seniors in their school.

Provincial Zone Bantam Softball this weekend

Unity is proud to have been chosen to host the Provincial Zone Bantam Boys' and Girls' Softball Championship. Teams have been practicing and playing since July when teams were selected.

A bike rally was held Aug. 20, starting from the Maymont Hotel with the route following Highway 16 to almost Saskatoon, then via Martensville to Blaine Lake and over Highway 376 south back to Maymont.

On a very hot Aug. 22nd, Maymont Seniors hosted 18 people from Borden and nine from Radisson for an afternoon program and supper. Kay Greenslade welcomed everyone and introduced the musical entertainment lined up for the afternoon.

Country Wives is the new exhibition at the Chapel Gallery with works by Métis artist Leah Dorion. This collection is reflective of the folk art movement, but each piece is drawn from her own life as a Métis artist.
