The Sturgis Mini-Miracle continued its tradition of helping others on February 28 when the Kinsmen and Kinettes hosted their 39h annual Mini-Miracle at the Sturgis Composite School.

The Preeceville School junior girls basketball team concluded its season with a tough loss against Kamsack in conference play on February 11.

The Okla snowmobile derby attracted 32 avid sleds on February 24. Snowmobilers traveled 40 miles through the scenic environment and met back at the Okla Community Hall for supper and awards.

The Roughrider Snowmobile Club hosted its annual family fun day with 55 individuals who took advantage of the event held on February 24.

The Stenen Post Office presented a plaque to the Village of Stenen Volunteer Fire Department in salute to its dedicated members in Stenen on February 22.

The Sturgis READ Club hosted the senior Parkland Valley District cribbage games in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association (SSFA.) There were eight teams entered in tournament held on February 22.

Last week I drove the kids to school almost every day, as opposed to Spencer walking three blocks to school, or Katrina walking half that distance to the bus stop. Are these walkable distances? Usually.

The Sturgis Curling Club hosted two separate fun bonspiels, a mixed and a kids’ bonspiel from February 11 to 14. There were nine rinks entered in the mixed event and eight rinks entered in the kids’ competition.

The Sturgis Kinsmen and Kinettes are preparing for the annual Mini-Miracle and organizers have said they have a full stage of talent lined up.

Prairie Women on Snowmobiles (PWOS) Mission 2019, held from February 3 to 8, raised over $83,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.
