The cold didn鈥檛 bother anyone at the Parkland Mall on Nov. 2 as they gathered for a Frozen family fun day. Kids had a chance to participate in crafts and enjoy cupcakes at the event.

Veteran鈥檚 Week was officially marked Tuesday by the General Alexander Ross branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Yorkton with the raising of the Remembrance Day Flag at the cairn near the cenotaph on Darlington Street.

Kids at the Yorkton Public Library had a chance to hear a story straight from the author. Local author Lorraine Johnson was at the library on Nov. 4 to read her book Baxter and the Blue Bunny to kids. She鈥檚 back at the library Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m.

鈥淕ala was a tremendous success this year and raised $31,580,鈥� said Diane Rusnak, Chair of The Health Foundation.

Statistically, as young girls approach their teenage years, they tend to drop sports from their life.

The Yorkton Exhibition Association has been working hard to get ready for this year鈥檚 Grain Millers Harvest Showdown, running Nov. 6-9.

Comedian Myles Morrison is headed to the Grain Millers Harvest Showdown. It will be a familiar trip for the Saskatoon-based comic. 鈥淲hen I first started I performed at a bar in Yorkton for about four people.

Bill Stubbings is a familiar face at the Legion. The well liked veteran, with an easy smile and a mischievous sense of humour, is, you could say, a local legend.

It was a night of fun and games at the Salvation Army church Friday. The church hosted a game night Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. People of all ages played various board and card games, while some opted to have fun making various creations from LEGO.
