The Rick Kinaschuk rink of Benito topped the annual Arran Mixed Open Bonspiel held January 22 to 28. A total of 16 rinks participated in the bonspiel, said Rick Nahnybida, an organizer.

For 25 years, Kamsack鈥檚 handicapped residents have been able to get the transportation they need around the community by making use of the Kamsack Handibus.

A primary care paramedic, who recently served as a lieutenant in a Manitoba fire department and was named the community鈥檚 firefighter of the year for 2015, began work on February 1 as Kamsack鈥檚 first director of protective services.

A Veregin couple who enjoy the sport of archery has begun the process of establishing an archery club in Kamsack.

A second series of 10 weeks of gymnastics instruction for the 2017-18 year will begin in Kamsack on February 7. The first session of instruction with Sandy Bedore as facilitator began in October and ended in December.

With another 150 plates of ham and perogies served, the Veregin Hall rests a bit more firmly as the community鈥檚 social centre.

The ladies at work invited me to go kayaking. I was very excited. I had never done this before, and the thought of sitting in a kayak and rowing into the horizon appealed to me.
