The Weyburn Comprehensive School held their annual fowl supper on Tuesday evening at the Cugnet Centre, with volunteers from students, parents, the Gold Wings team and Red Wings on hand to help. Live entertainment throughout the evening was provided by the Weyburn Comp's senior choir, RISE Choir and bands as people enjoyed their turkey dinners.

President of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ East Cornerstone Teachers’ Association, Whitney Paul-Joseph, delivered a repeat message that cuts to government funding has led to challenges for teachers.

The schools in the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division saw an overall increase of 2.37 per cent in enrolment, as of the Sept. 30 cutoff date.

Enrolment numbers in the Â鶹ÊÓƵeast Cornerstone School Division were expected to rise, and they did, perhaps a little more than what was anticipated.

The Weyburn Police Service responded to 84 calls for service during the period of Oct. 9 to 15, resulting in a total of 18 charges.

Prairie Sky Co-op is supporting the Weyburn Theatre Community Service Co-op and has donated $75,000 for the project, for the Walk of Fame in the lobby.

The Weyburn Legion was full on Saturday night for the sold-out Oktoberfest fundraiser event, which featured live entertainment by Weyburn bands Switch and Last Train West. Their 50/50 tickets were also sold out, and Kateryna Peregon was the winner of the $10,000 prize.

The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division celebrated the academic achievements of their students last year.

A team of cross-country runners from the Weyburn Comp took part in the SHSAA cross-country provincials on Saturday, and one member came home with a gold medal.
