A petition is being gathered to be presented to Weyburn city council

St. Michael students in Weyburn have been busy with a variety of activities, including learning bus safety, doing a painting project in class, and taking part in the annual Terry Fox School Run to raise funds for the Terry Fox Foundation, which supports cancer research.

Weyburn Review editor Greg Nikkel is showcasing photos from two tours of the Credit Union Spark Centre, one with Andrew Crowe, director of leisure services, and Ryan Dale, leisure services manager for the Spark Centre, on Wednesday, and with Regan Lanning, curator for the Weyburn Arts Council, with the Weyburn Rotary Club. The Spark Centre will have its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Legacy Park students took a walk on a warm fall day in Jubilee Park for the annual Fox Run on Wednesday, raising money for cancer research. The Grades 4-6 students walked in the morning, and the Pre-K to Grade 3 classes walked in the early afternoon.

The annual Festival of Leaves craft sale and trade show was held on Saturday at the Weyburn Curling Rink, with a total of 47 vendors from Weyburn and the surrounding region.

Heritage Day was held on Saturday at the Radville train station museum and grounds, featuring old-fashioned games, a large show-and-shine, live entertainment, a barbecue, a soapbox derby and a pie contest, among other things. The event is held annually as a fundraiser for the museum, located in the historic train station.
