With Remembrance Day in the wings, I think that it is important that we take a moment out of our day to remember the brave men and women who have served Canada in a uniformed capacity.

It is impossible for anyone to understand war unless they lived through it.

The Editor, Saskatchewan, and all of Canada, has much to celebrate as we enjoy freedoms unequaled almost anywhere else in the world.

The Hockey Hall of Fame held their induction ceremony for the 2010 class on Monday night, and the five inductees - Dino Ciccarelli, Cammi Granato, Angela James, Jim Devellano and Daryl Seaman couldn't have been more deserving.

The Editor, I am glad to see that I do not sit alone on how our City operates. I give Kim Hardie thumbs up on his recent letter to the editor and, yes Kim, you are correct, the citizens of Estevan do tolerate this approach.

Well the results are in. Tony Clement, the self-described "guy who will make the decision," (right Tony) gave us a definite maybe with that potash dealy, thinganamajig. That's the best we can expect, I suspect.

It's unfortunate, but true. We now have a new era or a new generation of veterans to remember on November 11. The last of the First World War veterans left us just recently.

Well, well, well! As I sit and write these opening words this week, I do so sniffling and feeling a rosy burn in my cheeks.
