I sit here today thinking about the many accomplishments I have made in my short almost 21 years on earth. For such a young person, I have succeeded at many things, I should be happy.

Where would sports be without statistics? No one would know who the playoff contenders were if somebody didn't keep track of the wins and losses. Batting titles, Most Valuable Player awards, scoring championships . . . all based on stats.

I read the Observer from a long way away, from Montreal in fact. I have to admit that I really enjoy it as it is a great change from we read about here every day. Sometimes I wish big city life could resemble small town life more often than it does.

I am convinced there are only three days a year where we are allowed to conduct anything of note in this province. OK, maybe four, but that's it.

The next municipal election may be a few months away yet, but it has already become a major point of discussion for Estevan residents. Obviously the bulk of the conversation is about who will be the city's next mayor.
