Team Canada, skipped by Rachel Homan, won the Women鈥檚 World Curling Championship. Homan beat Team Russia, skipped by Anna Sidorova, 8-3 in the final. Rachel Homan has won every kind of medal at the worlds, first bronze, then silver and now gold.

I love spring. I love the snow melting and feeling a teensy bit of warmth when standing in the sun. For all its wonderful qualities, spring is ugly鈥� am I right? Late spring is beautiful but early spring is blah.

Last week鈥檚 provincial budget wasn鈥檛 welcome news on a lot of fronts. But one announcement that should be resoundingly applauded is the provincial government鈥檚 decision to not tinker with Saskatchewan鈥檚 school division boundaries.

There was one thing we didn鈥檛 see in this most recent provincial budget, but it was certainly there 鈥� a giant reset button.

Promises. The government, regardless of who is in power, make empty promises; therefore, I鈥檓 a little leery looking at the Saskatchewan government鈥檚 promises regarding their budget.

So now we know what oil has been paying for. But that鈥檚 only the half of it, quite literally.

The highly anticipated unveiling of the Saskatchewan government鈥檚 budget on March 22 left no budget item stone unturned. Premier Brad Wall wasn鈥檛 kidding when he said that his government looked at everything.

The editor: I have noted that in Prime Minister Justin Trudeau鈥檚 speeches, he often says, 鈥淐anadians are telling me鈥︹�� or 鈥淯pon speaking to Canadians 鈥︹�� So many times when I have heard that, I think, 鈥淲ell, he didn鈥檛 ask me.

The editor: You may have noticed lately, in your paper and on social media, that numerous organizations are calling for volunteers. Not just calling actually, but full on begging for help.
