When Dianna Rasing woke up on Nov. 21, 2016, she had no idea that her life was about to change. While swimming laps at the Pam Am pool that morning, she noticed that the left side of her body felt numb.

It鈥檚 not surprising that I鈥檝e been humming Away in a Manger these days. After all, it is the Christmas season, but actually I鈥檝e found myself thinking more about wood. Neither humorous nor particularly profound, here are my musings.

A few years ago, the Royal Canadian Navy had a very, very, bad year. In August 2013, destroyer HMCS Algonquin bumped into supply ship HMCS Protecteur and was damaged. A few months later, HMCS Protecteur caught fire in February 2014 near Hawaii.
