For the first time in years, I should have bet on something connected to Weyburn. A thoroughbred named Weyburn won the recent Gotham Stakes, a fairly prominent stakes race at Aqueduct Race Track in Queens, N.Y.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Danny Quantrill. He passed away at Deer View Lodge on March 2 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his wife Mavis. A funeral service was held in Moosomin on March 8, with interment in the Kola Cemetery.

It was March 12, 2020. A lifetime ago. Or was it just the other day? My husband and I had tickets to a concert in Saskatoon. We waited all day for word it might be cancelled. The NBA had suspended its season the day before.

The editor: Let鈥檚 follow the Texas governor鈥檚 lead and end any and all restrictions that have been put in place because of Covid. You must realize by now the damage being done to our economy, our children, our seniors and the general public.

Some people will tell you the last 360-some-odd days have gone by incredibly slowly. Others will tell you they鈥檝e gone by very quickly. I鈥檒l argue for the former. The last year has been a blur.
