The Estevan Bruins' organization saw the SJHL Showcase as a trial run for a bigger event like the World Junior A Challenge or Royal Bank Cup, and by all accounts it was an impressive debut on the provincial stage for Spectra Place.

After taking some time to get familiar with his roster, Estevan Bruins head coach and general manager Keith Cassidy has settled on his new leadership group.

Spectra Place will host a much-hyped live MMA card on Saturday and two local fighters are looking forward to their first competition.

The biggest reason for the SJHL to stage its annual showcase event is for scouts from the NHL, NCAA, CIS and WHL to come and get a glimpse of all of their players in the same place.

The southeast cross country districts were held in Weyburn on Oct. 5 at the Weyburn Golf Course. The following results include the top three placings for each category.

With the SJHL Showcase going off virtually without a hitch on the organizational side, the Estevan Bruins did their part in making sure it was a weekend to remember for everyone.

The ECS Elecs football team is off to the semifinals in Moose Jaw High School Football League action after defeating the Swift Current Colts 21-9 on Tuesday. The Elecs (2-4) now take on the undefeated Vanier Vikings in Saturday's semi in Moose Jaw.
