聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 聽 The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls between Thursday, May 3 and the morning of Thursday, May 10.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Staff Sgt. Darren Simons of the Carlyle RCMP detachment says that within the past week 10 fires have occurred within the detachment area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淜udos to the volunteer fire departments from Carlyle, Manor and Kenosee Lake - and particularly those from White Bear who are persevering with antiquated equipment,鈥� he says. 鈥淚 would like to add that if it's dry, never leave a fire unattended and take a long, deep thought about considering聽 if you even have to burn.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 鈥淚 would like to remind members of the public that we investigate these fires and there is always the possibility of charges being laid.鈥�

听听听听听听听听听听听 One 911 call was deemed a misdial.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Alcohol-related offences

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to the report of an intoxicated motorist who was driving to the Manitoba border. Carlyle RCMP pursued the vehicle, then passed the information on to Manitoba RCMP. 鈥淗owever, if it was an emergency, we would travel into Manitoba and we have done so many times,鈥� says Staff Sgt. Simons.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver in the Kenosee Lake area. The driver聽 of the vehicle was sober, but the passenger was intoxicated and there was also open liquor in the vehicle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of an intoxicated individual in the Carlyle area. Before police arrived, an anonymous individual picked this person up, for which the RCMP are grateful.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An intoxicated male in the Carlyle area was lodged in cells and charged.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members responded to a report of an impaired driver on a highway within the detachment area.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to the report of an impaired driver in the Arcola area, who was not located.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Arson/Fire

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP investigated a total of 10 fires within this period. Two fires were deemed聽 incidences of arson by negligence within the detachment area. One incident was cleared by officer discretion and one is still under investigation by police.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assault

听听听听听听听听听听听 An incident of assault causing bodily harm in Carlyle resulted in a police investigation.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Assistance

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to the report of a young man who incurred an injury while riding a dirt bike.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Break and enter

听听听听听听听听听听听 Property was stolen from an unsecured garage in Carlyle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A bicycle was stolen from a garage in Carlyle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A reported break and enter at a Carlyle area cabin was proven to be unfounded.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Bylaw Enforcement

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP investigated a noise complaint in Carlyle under local bylaws.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Mental Health Act

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members dealt with three files under the Mental Health Act during this period.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Theft

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP received a report of a stolen phone in Wawota.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Traffic/Collisions

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with two drivers for insurance offences. The fine for this offence is $580. One driver was also fined $100 for a trailer licencing offence. Another was issued a warning for muffler exhaust.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A motorist was was found to be driving while disqualified and was charged. This was detected via the automatic licence reader system.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of a semi-trailer which was being driven in an erratic manner.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with a driver whose truck did not have a proper gravel door.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Three individuals were found to be driving with undue care and attention. This offence carries a $280 fine.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of an motorist driving while using a cell phone. The fine for this offence is $280.

听听听听听听听听听听听 An individual was found to be operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's licence.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members investigated a report of a disqualified driver.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Police dealt with four motorists for intersection-related offences, which can incur $230 fine. One of these drivers was also issued a warning for speeding.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP members issued over a dozen speeding tickets this week, with the highest fine being $218.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A young man was fined $150 for stunting.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members dealt with four motorists for seatbelt offences, one for a child who was not properly secured in a vehicle. The fine for a seatbelt offence is $175.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to a report of an erratic driver, who was found to be an individual who was undergoing driver training.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A truck driver was fined $150 for not properly filling out a daily log.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two drivers were charged with failure to produce applicable inspection documents for tractor trailers. The fine for this offence is $160.

听听听听听听听听听听听 RCMP responded to the report of a possibly-impaired driver. This individual was found to be sober. However, Staff Sgt. Simons says: 鈥淧lease don't hesitate to call us if you have a concern. If we work together, we can make our highways and roads safer for all of us.鈥澛�

听听听听听听听听听听听 Two individuals were fined $100 each fo failing to produce a registration certificate.

听听听听听听听听听听听 A truck and trailer was blocking Main Street in Carlyle. The driver was warned by police and moved their vehicle.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members issued several inspection tickets and/or warnings, including: inadequate headlights, tail lights and daytime running lights, obscured and/or damaged licence plates, exhaust and muffler issues, inadequate trailer lights, log book violations, improper signage and lighting on semi-trailers and oversize loads.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Uttering threats

听听听听听听听听听听听 Carlyle RCMP responded to three separate incidences of uttering threats. One individual involved was found to have eight outstanding warrants and is currently in custody. The other incident聽 was dealt with without charges and the third remains unresolved.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Vandalism

听听听听听听听听听听听 An unoccupied house in Manor was damaged. There are no suspects and no clues at this time.

听听听听听听听听听听听 Welfare check

听听听听听听听听听听听 Members performed a welfare check in the Carlyle area. All was found to be well.
