A modernized musical version of the Romeo and Juliet story will be staged by the junior high drama club at St. Michael School in Weyburn.

Dancers from Marley's Dance Effex in Weyburn, from preschool up to 18 years of age, performed in their season-end dance recital on Saturday at the Cugnet Centre. The day began with solos and duos performing first, then a recital with 58 dance numbers by small and large groups, and solos by graduating dancers, Maddie Gerry, Teresa Weger and Kiley Prost.

Taillon was part of a four-piece band that took top spot and won several pirzes.

The Big Muddy Players worked in partnership with the Coronach School Community Council.

Weyburn's De Tricky Feet Dance Studio held their first dance competition, the DeFeet Dance Challenge, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon at the Cugnet Centre, with dancers coming from eight other studios to join the Weyburn dancers. There were adjudicated dances in various categories, and on Sunday afternoon there was a dance-off with cash prizes, with the top group routines competing in each age division.

Young people learned pottery to create something they could take home.
