The Red Coat Ag Society held its biggest community market yet at the Assiniboia Civic Centre on August 27. This was the sixth year for the market which ran from noon to 3 p.m.

Submitted by David L Munro The Friends of the St. Victor Petroglyphs hosted a wonderful afternoon for the opening of the Red River Cart Display at the St. Victor Petroglyphs Interpretive Centre in St. Victor on August 26.

鈥淧lease God, send us rain!鈥� If you live in B.C. you could well have prayed this prayer over the past several months. In my case, it鈥檚 more like a few dozen times a day or, on days like today, a few dozen times an hour.

Assiniboia Town Council declared the month of September 鈥淧rostate Cancer Awareness Month.鈥� Mayor Bob Himbeault stated that this was the first time that Council made such a declaration after discussing a recent request at its August meeting.

The Broken Arrow Youth Ranch in Wood Mountain were promoting the ranch鈥檚 work at an information booth at the Limerick Farmer鈥檚 Market on August 19.

Though a concept foreign to prairie dwellers, I鈥檓 planning to plant vegetables this fall for harvest in late winter or early spring.

Limerick was a busy place on August 19 hosting two events and a number of garage sales. The annual Limerick Harvest Market at the Community Hall was a huge success again this year.

I was inspired at a recent Sunday service. The Spirit led me to glimpse Christ鈥檚 sacrifice for us and for all time. The realization of that image left me in tears. In Gethsemane Jesus contemplated his sacrifice of Good Friday.

Assiniboia Communities in Bloom held a Blooming Lunch fundraiser in Central Park in Assiniboia on August 23. 麻豆视频land Co-op was the food sponsor for the event.
