The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP responded to 52 calls to service between Dec. 6 and Dec. 12. 911 calls A vehicle located on Hwy 13 which was parked on the side of road and partially blocking traffic was reported.

In 1903 the first skating rink was established in Carlyle. Soon a friendly rivalry was developed with the nearby town of Arcola as games would be played in each town.
