A fun family event was hosted at Lampman School on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for kids to enjoy a day of activities.

The Carlyle PureChem Cougars had to reschedule their Friday, Dec. 16, game versus the Bienfait Coalers to a later date as the Coalers were unable to attend. The next day, however, the Cougars headed out to Midale where they battled on the ice.

Arcola School’s Leadership 30 class organized an indoor snowball fight, which was a hit amongst students in the school. The event was held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the school gymnasium.

A popular outing across the board and a fun new way to enjoy an evening has been popping up across the country in various forms. The idea is to spend an evening with friends, while learning how to paint.

For 22 years, the Carlyle DQ (Dairy Queen) has supported local kids in need with their Angel Tree and this year is no exception- the restaurant will be accepting gifts and/or gift cards for area children until midnight, Friday, Dec. 23.

Saskatchewan has earned the dubious distinction of having the highest rate of impaired driving in the country, according to Statistics Canada. It's a persistent provincial problem- but Carlyle RCMP Staff Sgt.

The Carlyle detachment of the RCMP had a relatively slow week between Thursday, Dec. 8, and Thursday, Dec. 15. Cold weather typically comes with a drop in calls for the RCMP. 911 calls RCMP received three 911 calls during this time.

Several elderly nuns were in their second floor convent one night when a fire broke out. They took their old habits, tied them together and lowered themselves safely on the ground.

The Redvers Wildlife Federation held their final event of the year on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The Mosaic Meal (Potluck) will again be held on the last day before the break, Wednesday, December 21st. Each student is asked to bring enough food for 5 - 6 people according to the grade’s category.
