The Old Wives Lake Watershed Association and Nature Saskatchewan teamed up for a bird count at Old Wives Lake and surrounding area on June 21. The bird count takes place twice a year in spring and fall.

The Grade 9 to 12 students made an eventful class trip to Banff from June 8 to 11 accompanied by Mr. Ficzel, Mr. Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Blair. They had a quick road trip to the national park and set up their tents right before the rain began to pour.

Staff members of the RBC branch in Assiniboia participated in the bankصs Days of Service program by assisting the Assiniboia Royal Canadian Legion Branch No‭. ‬17‭ ‬on June 5‭.

Mankota School held its Awards Day on June 23. A number of awards were presented to deserving students. Students with high academic achievements were acknowledged.

Staff members from the RBC branch in Assiniboia completed their days of service for the Assiniboia Club 55‭ ‬on June 5‭. ‬To assist‭ ‬Club 55‭, ‬the staff painted the storage room‭.

Ruth Fuson of Spokane, Washington, arrived by train in Glasgow where her sister, Joyce Mitchell, met her. They drove to Regina and spent the evening with Teresa Hnatiuk.

With crops maturing in the field, producers are worried the record high temperatures in July will prove damaging. They have now turned their attention to haying.

Bengough will open its doors to thousands flocking to the 13 th annual Gateway Festival on July 21-23. The festival promises fun entertainment for the whole family with children aged 12 years and under having free entrance.

The Dream Team from Saskatoon captured the A-side trophy for a fourth year in a row at the 2017 Limerick Slo-pitch Tournament in Limerick on June 23-25. The Dream Team, which defeated the Landsharks, included players from the south area.

The Junior B Â鶹ÊÓƵern Rebels held its golf tournament at the Assiniboia Regional Park Golf Course on Saturday, June 10.
