Saskatchewan police agencies reminded people that they can turn over their unwanted firearms without penalty 鈥� regardless of how they were acquired 鈥� during an amnesty period.

The Assiniboia Skating Club (ASC) held their annual Carnival on March 23, showcasing routines performed by its 45 skaters, ranging in age from 3 to 16 years. This year鈥檚 theme was Sun, Sand & Sea.

Another curling season for the Assiniboia and District Curling Club ended on March 27. The date also marked an end to Harvey Hysuik鈥檚 tenure as Curling Club Manager. Harvey is pictured at right.

Local football player Derek Beaubien was chosen by Team Canada to represent Canada on the U16 West All Star Team at the world championship. The world championship will be held January 12 - 19, 2019 at the AT &T stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Men鈥檚 Annual Bonspiel was held March 23 鈥� 25 at the Assiniboia Curling Club to wrap up the 2018 curling season. With 24 teams entered for this year鈥檚 bonspiel, many teams traveled from out-of-town to participate in this year鈥檚 event.

Safety Day 2018 was held at the Prince of Wales Centre in Assiniboia on March 15.

Last week, at the Assiniboia Elementary school, the Assiniboia 鈥楾imes鈥� and 麻豆视频land Coop had an opportunity to honour some special Grade 7 and 8 students from Assiniboia and three of their dedicated teachers.
