SASKATOON - One man was arrested early this morning following a weapons call to police.
At approximately 5 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a weapons call in the 200 block of Charlebois Crescent. It was reported to Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) that a man was approached in his vehicle by a male suspect who demanded a ride. When the man refused, the suspect produced and pointed a firearm at him. The man fled the scene in his vehicle, uninjured.
Police located the suspect walking in the 200 block of David Knight Crescent. He was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant and taken into custody without incident. On his person, officers located an imitation firearm and knife.
A 40-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carry a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and pointing a firearm.
