REGINA — Jeff Keshen has been reappointed as president and vice-chancellor of the University of Regina, the school's board of governors announced on Friday.
“I would like to congratulate Dr. Keshen on his second term as president and vice-chancellor,” said Cadmus Delorme, U of R board chair.
Delorme also said he looks forward to seeing Keshen's continued commitment and leadership in several areas.
Keshen joined the U of R in 2021, helping the school navigate protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The U of R said Keshen’s leadership has helped the school move forward with their 2020-2025 strategic plan, including growing the research enterprise through the development of the Office of Research Partnerships and Innovation.
There have also been enhancements made to research and entrepreneurial opportunities for students graduating via the creation of a graduate program, Graduate Advanced Training and Entrepreneurship (GATE).
Other successes during Keshen's time include the completion of the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Oppression strategy, the launching of an Indigenous Strategic Engagement Plan, and more
“All of these accomplishments from the past several years are the result of a tremendous collective effort by many people across the university,” said Keshen.
“I wish to acknowledge the dedicated work of my colleagues and express how much I look forward to working with them in the future to advance the university’s tripartite academic mission of teaching, research, and service to [the] community.”
Keshen's new term will begin on July 1, 2026.
