In a commodity-trading province like Saskatchewan, no one should have to be reminded of the importance of trade, especially, trade with the United States, with whom we do the most business.

There are more and more people who are wishing to grow their own food and make our world a more sustainable place to live. The wish to produce our own food without pesticides has increased the interest in organic gardening.

Here鈥檚 a commencement speech you won鈥檛 hear at most graduation ceremonies: As a new grad, the most important lesson you鈥檒l have to learn after leaving school is to live within your means and not spend more than you earn.

Looking back over the years I can think of only one neighbour we found impossible to get along with. Any recollections of that person are greatly outnumbered by the wonderful neighbourhood friendships we鈥檝e enjoyed over the years, however.

Last week I touched on the Ontario election and the need for governments across each of Canada鈥檚 provinces as well as federally to do a better job of observing and counting votes cast for 鈥渘o one鈥�.

We all need a break from time to time. The longer I am in the work force, the more I hold this to be true. To those of you who love your jobs enough to not be working them, I salute you.

This week, I am devoting considerable time and space to some of the changes to movie going in Saskatoon. The big news out of Saskatoon is about some of the openings and closings that have been announced there.

After a bit of volatility early in the year, things have returned to 鈥渘ormal鈥� again. The small correction we experienced was the first real volatility after a number of years of smooth sailing, which is unusual.
