Fans of the Battlefords North Stars will have an opportunity to congratulate this year's Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League champions Friday afternoon.

A couple of days before the start of their quarter-final series with the Weyburn Red Wings, Battlefords North Stars linemates Coby Downs and Layne Young discussed their approach to this year鈥檚 playoffs.

The product on the ice improved for the Humboldt Broncos this season and the scouts took notice. After having none of the players who finished the season last year commit to a collegiate hockey program the Broncos have had three commit to this point.

It鈥檚 been a long wait for Battlefords North Stars captain Kendall Fransoo to return the ice after being sidelined with a knee injury on Feb. 22 during a game against the Kindersley Klippers.

The hard work the Battlefords Kinsmen Orca Swim Team has been putting in is paying off in spades.
